Opera Singer Mistaken as Screams For Help

There was a call to police in Amsterdam, Netherlands, of a man screaming. Police and neighbors thought the worst; the guy was in trouble and shouting for help. Nope.

When the police kicked in the door they discovered the man was actually a local opera singer who was practicing. The man was wearing headphones and never heard the police entering his apartment.

The police were responding to an emergency call placed by a neighbor, who suspected the man was the victim of a violent domestic crime. The tipster told the 1-1-2 dispatcher he heard a terrifying scream from the house.

The police knocked on the door but with the ‘opera singer’ wearing headphones, he didn’t hear them so they kicked in the door. When it was discovered the man was ‘trying’ to sing, residents, the tipster and police had a good laugh about the incident.
