Supporters of an effort to resurrect passenger train service between Portland and Auburn will be unveiling details of their plan this Friday at a forum at the University of Southern Maine. Members of the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors and Sierra Club Maine will give their detail analysis of passenger service from the Portland downtown waterfront to Auburn with stops in Falmouth, Yamouth Village and Pineland Center. That could set the stage for later expansion beyond Auburn, to Bethel, Maine's western ski resorts and Quebec.

A forum is set for this Friday at 8 a.m. at Lee Auditorium at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.

The Maine Rail Transit Coalition began studying ways to pay for refurbishing the 29-mile St. Lawrence and Atlantic public transit line between India Street in Portland and the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport in August.

What do you think? Would you use the passenger train between Portland and Auburn?
