A Pittston man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the Camden National Bank in Randolph on Saturday (Oct. 31).
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland said the Maine State Police Tactical Team arrested Michael Giacomuzzi, 32, of Pittston, at a home in Pittston  on Nov. 4.

McCausland said Giacomuzzi lives at another undisclosed adderss in Pittston, but was staying with a friend last night at a house at 27 Capitol Street. Accordinf to McCausland, troopers called Giacomuzzi on a phone and used a P A system to get him out of the house and he surrendered without incident about 5AM and was taken to the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta.

The arrest was a result of a number of tips the State Police received after releasing photos of the robber and his car on Saturday, McCausland said. The lone robber entered the bank, located at Googin’s IGA store on Water St., and handed a note to a teller demanding money adding that he had a gun. The robber made off with $5,900 and none of the money has been recovered, said McCausland.

According to McCausland, Giacomuzzi’s criminal history includes past drug arrests. He also bought another car over the weekend, likely with some of the stolen money. He is charged with robbery, theft and violating his probation conditions, McCausland said
