The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 16-year-old girl, who went missing over the holiday weekend.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, Brittney Wilson of Somerville was last seen Saturday evening at her grandparents' house, also in Somerville. Officials believe she snuck out of the house during the night, and may have been picked up by an unknown vehicle since she took a number of her belongings with her.

Brittney has not been in contact with any known friends or family since Saturday night, but officials say she has family ties to the Jay area and friends in the Augusta area. If the teen were not in a car, police say she would have been walking on Route 17, between Somerville and Augusta, Saturday night. Investigators say it's also possible that she's looking for a bus station, with an unknown destination.

Brittney Wilson is 5'6" tall, 165 pounds, with hazel eyes. Her naturally brown hair is currently dyed black. She was last seen wearing dark-colored leggings with holes and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about Brittney's whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Michaud or Lieutenant Kane at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. 207-882-7332.
