Popular Snowfall Map Suggesting ‘Record Shattering Snowfall’ Is a Hoax

You might have seen this map on Facebook calling for 'record-shattering snowfall' for New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. It is a hoax.

It's all from a satire website. The story from EmpireNews.net has a 'Dr. Boris Scvediok', a doctor of global weather sciences. He explains that snowfall is expected to dramatically exceed normal seasonal totals.'

In the story he is quoted as saying,'because this year the snowfall is predicted to start by the end of September or the beginning October, you can expect to multiply that number by up to five, ten, maybe even twenty times in some areas,' Scvediok adds, 'In the worst zones, you could see 50 times the amount of snow you've had in the past.'
