Maine has a law where retail stores of more than 5,000 square-feet can not open on holidays. The are exceptions in the law, for example, L.L.Bean.

Greg Hawes, the owner of G & M Market in Holden, has be leading a charge to change the law because the convenience store's expansion to a full-sale market put it over the 5,000 square-foot limit under the law.

What are your thoughts? Should stores in Maine have the choice to open on holidays? Also, would you go shopping on Thanksgiving Day if the big retail stores could open in Maine?
