Even though the National Championship play-in games are over there are still bowl games being played. The College Football National Championship game between Ohio State and Oregon will be the final college game of the year on January 12.

Taxslayer Bowl:  Tennessee (7-6) started the game out fast scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter on their way to a 45-28 win over Iowa (7-6).  Volunteer’s running back Jalen Hurd had two of those touchdowns on the ground and rushed for 122 yards on only 16 carries.  This is Tennessee’s first bowl win since 2007.

Alamo Bowl:  UCLA (10-3) hung on to beat Kansas State (9-4) 40-35. Paul Perkins for the Bruins rushed for 194 yards including a 67 yard fourth quarter score.  Kansas State tried an onside kick with less than two minutes left, but UCLA recovered and ran out the clock.

Cactus Bowl: Oklahoma State (7-6) intercepted Washington (8-6) quarterback Cyler Miles as the Huskies were driving down by 8. Cowboys QB Mason Randolph passed for 299 yards and running back Desmond Roland ran for 123. Final Oklahoma State 30, Washington 22.

Armed Forces Bowl: Houston (8-5), down by 25 in the fourth quarter came back to beat Pittsburgh (6-7) 35-34. Houston took a chance and went for the win on a two pint conversion and got it. The comeback was the fifth most unlikely bowl win in 10 years.
