Over the last few years, we have heard about numerous restaurants and bars closing their doors permanently.

In some cases, these establishments were locally owned, but some of the most affected restaurants were national chains.  Denny’s, Ruby Tuesdays, TGI Friday’s, and Friendly’s have all closed locations in recent years.

The really unfortunate part is that, in most cases, these restaurants were serving a superb product.  The fact is that, as we all deal with a rough economy, people are being much more selective of where they go on a night out.

It looks like another beloved restaurant chain, known for its burgers, will soon begin closing underperforming locations.

Red Robin’s Plans to Close Underperforming Locations in 2025

According to Michigan Live, the chain had a restaurant-level operating loss of about $6 million and a company-wide loss of $77.5 million in the last year.  As a result, they have made the decision to evaluate dozens of underperforming locations.

The article explains that about 70 locations will be up for evaluation and the chain could close between 10 and 15 of those underperforming locations in 2025.
