Renys Wins Award For Commitment To Maine Downtowns
According to the Lincoln County News, Maine retailer Renys (A Maine adventure!) has been recognized for the company's commitment to Maine's downtowns and their historic buildings.
John Reny accepted the Maine Preservation’s Earle G. Shettleworth Jr. Preservation Champion Award at Falmouth's Portland Country Club on November 20th.
The first Renys opened in Damariscotta in October of 1949. Since then, many retailers have abandoned Maine's downtowns in favor of malls and shopping plazas. Renys has opted to keep their stores in downtown locations. 11 of the company's 17 locations are house in historic downtown buildings.
When you visit their stores, you never know what you are going to find... Hardware, gardening supplies, clothing, toys, appliances. Renys really is a Maine adventure!
