This Enormous Maine Mini Golf Course Hides a Really Cool Secret
If you're making a trip to Southern Maine, one of your stops needs to be at Maine's largest mini golf course.
Schooner Miniature Golf in Saco, Maine
Saco's Schooner Miniature Golf has been in business for over three decades. The course first welcomed visitors in 1988. Given the name and location, it is not a surprise that it is nautical-themed. Each hole was designed to give the impression that you are on the rustic Maine coast, with lighthouses, boats, docks, and more.
The prices are very reasonable. Depending on how old the golfer is, they'll pay between $10.50 and $12.50. Remember, kids under four are free.
According to their website, they are open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM through the end of August. After Labor Day, they ask you to call about their hours. They are typically open from April through the end of September.
In addition to the 18-hole mini golf course, they also have a full dairy bar that serves cones, shakes, sundaes, and more. We're pretty sure the house rule is that the loser buys the ice cream!
What About the 'Adult' Secret?
A few years ago, Schooner added a cool new feature that makes this place stand out from other mini golf courses.
Schooner Mini Golf now has a beer garden.
You and your friends can now enjoy a craft beverage before or after you play your round. They even have some shaded picnic tables where you can hang out.
Schooner Mini Golf is on Ocean Park Road in Saco, Maine. Their location puts them very close to Funtown Splashtown, Aquaboggan, and all that Old Orchard Beach has to offer.
