According to a Facebook post by the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, a Maine man remains behind bars following a Saturday evening crash and subsequent drug arrest.

The crash happened at about 9:35 PM near the intersection of Main Street and Bakerstown Road in Poland.  Upon arrival, first responders noticed 37 year old Joshua Walter Appleby, of Bryant Pond, appear to be hiding something in the grass near the road.

The Facebook post explains:

The operator of one of the vehicles, Joshua Walter Appleby, age 37 of Bryant Pond, Maine, was seen hiding some items in the grass and trying to conceal them. Appleby was currently out on bail for aggravated trafficking in drugs and part of his bail conditions included he was subject to search and testing. Deputies located numerous drugs as well as a stolen firearm in Appleby's possession.

He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail where he was charged with several crimes including illegal possession of a firearm, violating conditions of release, unlawful possession of cocaine base, unlawful possession of heroin, and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

There is no word on when Appleby is due back in court.
