Sometimes, an idea is planted and then it grows into reality.  I'm so excited about this event...and the opportunity to raise more awareness around the state of Maine, and beyond, about chiari malformation.

1 in 1000 people have chiari.  Chiari malformation is a condition where the base of the brain falls below the base of the skull and compresses the spine and brain stem.  It is debilitating, for most, and holds no cure.  Patients, in Maine, and around the country are forced to travel long distances for treatment.

I have been very open about my journey.  Through that, I have met several others in Maine that also have chiari.  This only justifies the growing need for awareness to be raised in our great state.  I'm excited to organizing this great ride.

Save the date and join us! WEAR PURPLE!! Don't ride?  Me neither!  Join us after the ride at the Red Barn at 1pm and enjoy great music from Sharon Hood and the Dixon Road.
