PNC has released its 12 Days of Christmas price index for 2016. The PNC price index has been released for more than 30 years and it determines what the 12 Days of Christmas costs from the classic Carol.

Here’s the breakdown of what the 12 Days of Christmas would cost on today’s market.

A Partridge In A Pear Tree…This will cost $209.99. The partridge will cost $20 and the pear tree will cost $189.99.

  • Two Turtle Doves...Two Turtle Doves will set customers back $375 this year.
  • Three French Hens…This will add $181.50 to the total for 2016.
  • Four Calling Birds…Calling Birds are going to cost customer $599.96 for four of them.
  • Five Gold Rings…Gold isn’t cheap and five rings will cost $750.00 this year.
  • Six Geese-A-Laying…The laying geese will cost customers $360.00.
  • Seven Swans-A-Swimming…This is where things start getting expensive. Seven Swans-A-Swimming are set at a price of $13,125.00.
  • Eight Maids-A-Milking…While higher on the list, this one is only priced at $58.00.
  • Nine Ladies Dancing…Dancing ladies aren’t cheap and $7,552.84 is the price for nine of them.
  • Ten Lords-A-Leaping…Neither are leaping lords with a price of $5,508.70 in 2016.
  • Eleven Pipers Piping…These piping pipers will cost customers $2,708.40.
  • Twelve Drummers Drumming…$2,934.10 is the price tag for these drumming drummers.

All these items together would cost $34,934.10 which is slightly more than expensive last year’s index.

It would be worse though if you bought each item every time it is mentioned in the song. If that were the case the 12 Days of Christmas would cost you $156, 507.88.

I think I’ll stick with giving soap-on-a-rope.
