Summer in Maine means riding Dragon's Descent at Funtown, contending with tourists who don't know how to drive and pop-up thunderstorms that seemingly appear out of an otherwise beautifully clear sky. You know what they say, right? If you don't like the weather in Maine, just wait a minute and it will change.

According to WGME 13, says that a combination of weather factors will lead to an increased risk of severe thundershowers for much of Vacationland on Monday afternoon.

WGME reports many around the state will see their day start with small showers that aren't considered severe. However, that is likely to change later in the day.

The news station says that storms are more likely this afternoon and evening and that some storms could possibly produce a tornado and large hail, though the biggest threat is going to be damaging winds, according to WGME.

Mainers can expect today's air to be hot and muggy with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s.

Many are wondering when the heck we're going to see some kind of reprieve from all of this intense heat. The answer? Tomorrow and Wednesday. Though temperatures will still climb into the low to mid 80s, we'll get a huge break from the unbearable humidity.
