Sharon Buck & Dixon Road Headed To The Recording Studio!

I have been preparing for this my entire life. Back in the early 2000s, I had the opportunity to record two albums. As much as I enjoyed the experience, the albums, well, weren't the greatest. It was because the songs I was singing weren't mine.

This time, things are going to be different!

I had the opportunity to record "Good Ol' Country Boys" last summer and I got the bug! I have been writing songs and I have finally compiled enough to make an album of ten songs.

I write anywhere and everywhere: Anderson's swim class, at work, I record voice recordings on my phone if I don't have pen and paper handy. I am in The ZONE!

I met with the men of Sharon Buck & Dixon Road, Rick Mailhiot, Mark Parlin, Drew Salisbury and Ed Nevins last  Thursday and we talked about going into the studio. We have the two originals "Good Ol' Country Boys" to re-record and also "Dixon Road" where the guys get to pick and have a little fun on.

The song "Miss Loretta" is very special to me. I have loved Loretta Lynn and wrote this song about her.Maybe one day she will hear it.

The song "Luckiest Girl in the World" is about how Chad makes me feel. You know it's going to be a happy, upbeat number!

"10 Feet Tall and Bulletproof" is not a remake of the song by Travis Tritt. It's about helping your buddy with a drinking problem.

"Lovin' in the Nighttime"-I guess you can tell what that's about.

"Lotta Growin' Up To Do" tells a man what he needs to do win over a girl. Some men more than others...

"Turn It Up!" wants you to turn up the music...LOUDER!!! When you need to dance, Turn It Up!

"Round My Way Again"-the main character doesn't want to get back together with her ex because there is evidence he is still in love with his last girlfriend.

"A Better Day" is a motivational song that says better things are around the corner. You know me...always a silver lining!

Those are the songs, hopefully. I have to run them by the guys. If they don't like them, well, it's back to the pencil and paper. I think we have a really good mix of fast and slow songs, country and country rock, new and old. This project is something I am so excited about! I can't wait to share them all with you!
