3 Things You Can’t Miss at the 2025 Skowhegan State Fair
Very few things in the United States have been around for over two centuries.
There are a few restaurants (mostly in New England), a few hotels (mostly in New York), and a couple of events.
One of those longtime events is the Skowhegan State Fair.
According to the fair's website, it has been running since 1818.
Yes, in 2025, the fair celebrates 207 years!
The fair has survived a Civil War, two world wars, and numerous significant events. Even a global pandemic did not prevent the event from happening. Yes, it was a little different in 2020, but it still took place.
Three Things You Can't Miss at the 2025 Skowhegan State Fair
1 - Dollar Days
The good people from the fair know that, even though the Skowhegan State Fair is very affordable, going to the fair can get pricey. This is especially true if you have a bigger family. That's why they have instituted Dollar Days. On Thursday, August 7th, and Tuesday, August 12th, you'll be able to get into the fair for just $1 and ride bracelets are only $18.
2 - Demolition Derbies
If you love a good demolition derby, you need to go to the Skowhegan State Fair. The fair features some of the best demo derbies in the state. There are three of them during the fair: Friday August 8th, Monday August 11th, and Friday August 15th. The first heat is at 7 each night. You want to get there early so you can get a good seat, though.
3 - The Amazing Live Music
There are so many great bands performing at this year's Skowhegan State Fair. Six Wayz to Sunday, the Song Pirates, and Somerset Outlaws, to name just a few.
And get more details and check out everything the fair has to offer on the Skowhegan State Fair website.
