#TBT: See What Lobster Fishing Was Like In Maine Back In 1929 [VIDEO]

Thanks to the Northeast Historic Film YouTube page, we can see what it took to put lobster on the table back in 1929.

Int his silent video filmed along the coast of Maine off Bar Harbor, we can watch lobstermen first fish for the herring to be used as bait for the lobsters, then they climb in their tiny boat, much different than today's lobster boats, these boats had no mechanized wheel to help bring the traps to the surface, the lobstermen had to bring them up by hand! These guys pull up more than just lobster, some crabs and some ugly fish can be seen in this video as well..
