According to astronomers, the dark side of the moon is not dark or black as originally thought. They say it’s really turquoise. The astronomers did studies for two years of measurements at Hawaii’s Mauna Loa observatory and used telescopes made to use two color filters and the result: turquoise.

The reason for the color is explained by the color of the Earth, blue, and when the sun hits Earth it reflects a faint blue color to the moon resulting in turquoise. They were able to screen out light from the bright side of the moon to discover the true color of the dark side of the moon.
