These 5 Maine Businesses Make National Best Place To Work List
When it comes to the best employers in the United States, Maine doesn't always come as top of mind.
With the Forbes 500 list of best employers in the country released last week, it was nice and refreshing to see that Maine did in fact have a decent showing.
According to a report by Mainebiz, MaineHealth made the top 10 list for "Best Large Healthcare Employers", and #13 overall in part for it increase of the company's minimum wage from $14/hr to $17/hr for over 18,000 employees.
The Forbes 500 list is comprised of data taken from an anonymous survey of over 60,000 people employed in the United States.
Another Maine showing goes to L.L. Bean who ranked #35 over all in the U.S.. A Maine newcomer to the list was UMaine who placed at #160. Another Maine newcomer this year is Jackson Laboratory, coming in at #287. And rounding out Maine's showing on the popular annual list is the State of Maine Government, which edged itself on to the list at #435.
L.L. Bean and the State of Maine are the only two who have made the list before.
