Here in New England, we are lucky to have our fair share of great haunted attractions.  No matter where you are, you’re not far from a haunted house, haunted trail, or haunted school.  Some of these attractions, like Farmington Fright Fest and Spooky World, even have multiple themed haunts at the same location.

Unfortunately, most of our haunted attractions are only open for a couple of weeks leading up to Halloween.  Some of them are only open for a few nights.

Here’s some good news for people who love getting scared: we found a haunted attraction that is open year-round.

Operated by Mystery New Hampshire, Monster Mash is a haunted attraction hidden in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

The story of Monster Mash centers around Frau Frye’s Bizarre Big Top.  At one time, it was the premiere circus in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  Unfortunately, because of some really bad luck, the owner, Great Uncle Duwain, closed it permanently.  Following the closure of the circus, Duwain moved what remained of the circus to a secluded spot in the woods.  Recently, Duwain passed away, leaving you what remained of the circus.  It’s time to check out your inheritance, if you dare!

According to the Monster Mash website, they are currently on their winter hours.  That means they’re open from 3:30 to 8:30 PM on Fridays, 11 AM to 8:30 PM on Saturdays, and 11 AM to 4 PM on Sundays.

During the summer, they’ll be open seven days a week.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from the Monster Mash website.

In addition to Monster Mash, Mystery New Hampshire also has several escape rooms.  As of December 2023, they have three rooms for you to escape from: Fashion Passion, Toy Title Tradition, and School’s Out.

You’ll find both Monster Mash and the Mystery New Hampshire escape rooms at the Conway Marketplace on White Mountain Highway in Conway, New Hampshire.

We weren’t kidding when we said it was hidden, either.  If you are a regular visitor to the Mount Washington Valley, there is a chance you have driven past it without even realizing.  Your best bet would be to enter the actual address into your GPS.  The address is 50 White Mountain Highway in Conway, New Hampshire.
