This Combination Bakery/Gun Shop Is Hiding In A Small Maine Town

While it does happen in more populated areas, it feels like combination businesses really excel in smaller towns and in rural areas.  Often, these businesses are done out of necessity.  There just is not enough business to keep a small engine repair shop busy and there is not enough business to keep a sign making business operating.  So, in order to make enough money, the two businesses are combined.

Sometimes, we see this lead to some combinations that don't really make a lot of sense.

One of the more unique combinations that we have ever seen is located in the small Maine town of Oakland.

Gun Gal Bullets & Bakery is a combination bakery and gun shop!  You did not miss-read that.  A bakery and gun shop!  Only in Maine!

One of the great things about the business is how it excels at both.  If you scroll through the company Facebook page you will see a mix of posts about pistols, long guns, ammunition, donuts, cupcakes, and amazing looking cream puffs.  Based on the pics on their Facebook page, they even do birthday and wedding cakes!

Leah, the owner, says that, in addition to firearms and ammo, she stocks (or, is planning to stock) archery supplies and survival gear.  She also plans to bring in a bunch of hunting supplies before the start of hunting season.
