Not sure if you noticed, but yesterday we were hit with a string of thunderstorms that literally made my coworker jump. While we in Kennebec County were lucky enough to get out relatively unscathed, many of the surrounding areas were not as lucky.

According to Central Maine Power, roughly 30,000 people total lost power during Thursday's storms and 4,000 people are still without power. They did say it should be restored by this evening, tomorrow morning at the latest.

According to WMTW many cities in the area were struck by strong winds in association with the storm, some gusts hitting 70 mph. Trees and power lines were reported down in many areas including, Brunswick, Bath, and Bangor, however, with most schools losing power, some kids got to enjoy a 3 day weekend.
