The weather has been great for fishing over the past couple of weeks. The lakes are warming up, the sun is shining until almost 8 p.m. and the fish are biting. Mainers know that we have good bass fishing, and now the word is spreading.Three Maine lakes have made Bassmaster Magazine's nationwide list this year for the '100 Best Bass Lakes'.

Cobbosseecontee Lake between Winthrop and Manchester was ranked #30.

Kezar Lake in Lovell was number 54 on the list.

Sebago Lake came in number 63 out of the top 100.

Bassmaster Magazine editor, James Hall, tells the Lewiston Sun-Journal, that Cobbosseecontee ranked 30th 'because of its impressive largemouth population'. Hall added that the lake also has good smallmouth bass numbers and high catch rates for bass.

Michigan's Lake St. Clair came in #1 on the list.
