Tom Brady has hired a lawyer to represent him in the Deflategate debacle. Brady has been suspended for four games by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. The Wells Reports didn’t confirm Brady was involved but if he sticks to his story, Goodell will take that as lying and uphold his suspension.

The lawyer Brady hired is Jeffrey Kessler who is loved or hated around the league depending on who you ask. League officials say he’s undermining the game, players say he keeps Roger Goodell in check. Either way, Brady has hired him and if he decides to sue the league, Goodell could be called as a witness even though he is the arbitrator too.

Kessler has been a fixture in the NFL since 1992 beating the NFL’s salary restrictions that was the first step toward total free agency. In 2000 he represented Bill Belichick when he wanted to leave the Jets for the Patriots. And we all know how that worked out for the Pats.
