Lewiston ranked as the 7th safest and Portland came in at #9. WalletHub looked at home and community safety, financial safety and natural disaster risk to determine the rankings according to wmtw.com.
New England was well-represented in the rankings. South Burlington, Vermont, was the second-safest place to live and Nashua, New Hampshire, was ranked the safest city in America.
