Today, August 4th is National Coast Guard Day. The Coast Guard is celebrating its 227th year being founded by an act of Congress in 1790. To celebrate two America’s Tall Ships will be in Portland this weekend.

The Coast Guards USS Eagle a 295-foot ship and the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry a 200-foot sail training ship will be at Portland’s Ocean Terminal Saturday and Sunday.

According to pressherald.com the Eagle will make dock on Friday and you can take a look at but it won’t be open for tours until Saturday and Sunday. Both ships will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
