The University of Maryland has announced that it will postpone indefinitely an upcoming screening of the popular movie 'American Sniper' after Muslim students protested.

A petition from the university's Muslim Students Association called 'American Sniper' Islamophobic, racist and nationalistic.

The University of Maryland was going to show the critically-acclaimed film about the life of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle on May 6 and 7. The school postponed the event on April 22nd.

Earlier this month another Muslim group at the University of Michigan had protested to ban that school from showing 'American Sniper'. The school originally cancelled the screening and then reversed that decision after much backlash.
