Over the last few years, we have seen way too many business close their doors for good.  This seems especially true for hospitality businesses, like restaurants.  Well, it appears that Central Maine has lost another one.

According to the KJ, the Burger King restaurant on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville, which has been on operation for 26 years, has closed its doors for good.

The last day for the restaurant, which is owned (was owned?) by Carrols Corp. of Syracuse, New York, was Sunday.

No reason was given for the closure of the Kennedy Memorial Drive location.

The newspaper article explains that a representative of Carrols Corporation told them that the workers from the Kennedy Memorial Drive Burger King had been offered jobs at other area Burger Kings.

The Kennedy Memorial Drive location is not the only Burger King restaurant in Waterville.  There is also a location at 44 College Avenue.

Carrols Corporation reportedly owns over 1,000 restaurants across the country.  Most of these are Burger King and Popeye's fast food restaurants.
