Waterville High School Planning For A “Car Dealership” Graduation
While 2021 is definitely a lot more normal than 2020, things are not completely back to normal. This is especially true for high schools and colleges as they are planning their graduation ceremonies.
While many schools, including Erskine Academy, Skowhegan, Winslow, and Lawrence are planning for in-person commencement ceremonies, some are taking a more socially distant route.
This is the case for Waterville High School.
According to the KJ, just as they did in the Spring of 2020, Waterville High School will be holding a graduation ceremony at the Central Maine Motors on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville.
The 2021 graduation ceremony will take place at 7 PM on Thursday, June 10th.
Each graduate will be able to have two vehicles at the ceremony. Depending on the number of people in a graduate's "bubble", and how large the vehicles are, this could be more convenient than holding a traditional ceremony. For example, if you have larger groups of people who spend a lot of time together, you could potentially have 8 or 10 people attend the ceremony.
Just like last year, Chris and Linanne Gaunce, owners of Central Maine Motors Auto Group, have offered to let the school use their Toyota lot for the event.
About 100 Waterville High School students are expected to get their diplomas at the graduation ceremony.
We wish all of the graduates from the Class of 2021 the best of luck in all their future endeavors.
