Have you heard of "The Cubby"? Well if you haven't, you are about to hear a lot more about it in the coming weeks. The Cubby, just won the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs' Top Gun Showcase award last week.

Pretty exciting stuff when you realize that the Waterville start-up created by college students to help college students sell their art work via an online marketplace.

According to Mainebiz, the Top Gun Showcase award will land the students $25,000.

For students who are just establishing themself, it allows shoppers to support emerging artists and the best part is of course having access to one-of-a-kind art pieces at an amazing price. Another cool feature is the whole price goes directly to the student artists, without additional fees or costs.

The Top Gun Showcase award program is a collaboration of Maine Center for Entrepreneurs, the University of Maine, Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council, and Thomas College.
