What’s Going On at the Wendy’s Restaurant in Augusta, Maine?
Here in Central Maine, we are fortunate to have our share of the country's best chain restaurants.
You can take your pick of McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Chick-fil-A, Arby's, and, of course, Wendy's.
If you are a fan of the chain's unique square burgers and epic fries, you may have noticed something going on at the Wendy's location on Western Avenue in Augusta.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen some significant (de)construction going on at the restaurant. At first, it appeared that they were just making a few minor changes to the restaurant's roof. Then, they removed the windows from the location's dining room! At that point, we all knew something major was going on.
I was curious about what was going on, so I rolled through the drive-thru, ordered myself an iced coffee, and asked the person at the drive-thru window a few questions about what was going on.
He explained that the restaurant was undergoing a major renovation, but did not provide many details about the renovation.
He explained that, as they were almost finished with the project, the drive-thru (which had been open throughout the project) would be closed for a few days in the coming week.
It sounds like the newly remodeled location will re-open on Friday, November 15th.
We can't wait to stop by for a burger, fries, and chili and to see what they've done with the place.
The restaurant chain, which was founded by Dave Thomas in 1969, currently has over 7,000 locations worldwide. You can learn more from the Wendy's website.
