
What’s Open and What’s Closed in Maine on Memorial Day
It's the unofficial beginning of summer this weekend as the state celebrates Memorial Day. Here's a list of what's open and closed around the state on the holiday, Monday, May 27.
- State and federal offices will be closed, as well as town and city halls.
- Post offices will be closed, and only Express Mail will be delivered. Regular mail delivery resumes Tuesday.
- All major banks and credit unions are closed.
- Some retailers and restaurants are closed, but most convenience stores will be open. Hannaford and Shaw’s supermarkets are open.
