Why is Vassalboro Fire Spraying Water Into The Air in Gravel Pit?
Not many people could see what was happening with the Vassalboro fire trucks on Tuesday night, but had they been able to they probably would have asked 'what the heck is going on here?'.
When you picture a big red firetruck spraying water, you typically think of them spraying it into a burning building, or over the debut of a new jet airliner on a tarmac (still no sure why they do that). Typically you wouldn't think a firetruck would be deployed to a gravel pit where there is no fire present to shoot water straight up into the air, right? Well, sometimes that's exactly what happens.
According to a post by the Vassalboro Fire Department on Facebook, the crew was out on Monday evening training and testing their water supply operations in the pits off of Cemetery Street.
