A Look At ‘Odd Laws’ In Maine
The New Year often means a round of new laws, sometimes you just scratch your head and wonder why we needed a law for that. Here are some 'odd laws' in Maine that have been around for a while.
After January 14th you will be charged a fine for having your Christmas decorations still up.
You may not step out of a plane in flight. (Would that make skydiving illegal?)
In Augusta, it's illegal to stroll down the street playing a violin.
In Biddeford, it's against the law to gamble at the airport.
In Freeport, mercury thermometers may not be sold in the city.
In South Berwick, it's illegal to park in front of a Dunkin Donuts.
And in Waterboro, it's illegal for dog leashes to be over eight feet in length.
