A New Form of Excercise, Paddle Board Yoga
A new form of exercise is beginning to take form called Paddle Board Yoga. Paddle boarding has been around since the 1940’s. You’re on a type of surf board with a long paddle and you ride the calm water or the waves.
Paddle Board Yoga is exactly what it sounds like, doing yoga on a paddle board on the water. It’s become known as SUP for Stand-Up Paddle and when the waves are high it becomes tough to hold your downward dog or warrior poses. But it is a good way to bring yoga outdoors and some of the moves, according to some, actually seem easier on the water, once you become accustomed to the side to side rocking motion.
There are times you will fall in the water, but they say, that’s all part of the fun combining the two sports.
