Goodyear blimps have been around at sporting and other events for a long time and, after decades of Goodyear having blimps in their fleet, a new generation of the Goodyear flying machines is being built. Instead of a blimp, Goodyear is building a zeppelin.

Zeppelins were replaced by blimps dating back to 1919 but Goodyear thinks it’s time to bring back the zeppelin, which is much bigger than a blimp measuring 246 feet long, 66 feet wide and weighing 19,780 pounds. The blimps being used by Goodyear currently use technology dating back to World War ll. The new zeppelin should roll out for the first flight in March 2014.
