ShineOnCass Foundation Goes Virtual Due To Covid-19

The ShineOnCass Foundation was made in memory of 17-year-old Cassidy Charette, who passed away in a tragic hayride accident back in 2014. Cassidy's family and friends started the ShineOnCass Foundation because they wanted a way for Cassidy's kindness, compassion, and love of soccer to continue.

The ShineOnFoundation raises money for the local community, such as scholarships in Cassidy's name and the big brother big sister program, and encourages random acts of kindness.

Each year the ShineOnFoundation hosts an 11-hour soccer tournament in July to raise money. Why 11 hours? 11 was picked because it was Cassidy's soccer number. This year the foundation had to create a new way to stay socially distant due to Covid-19 and still raise money for this great cause.

This year's event will be called "Kick Back for Cass" and be a little different than past years. Instead of a soccer tournament, the ShineOnCass Foundation is asking both soccer teams and individuals from all over to donate to local organizations and to volunteer in their communities.

Get Ready to Shine! Teams and individuals will choose how they will Kick Back. Volunteer! Walk dogs at the humane society, help a neighbor, pay for someone’s coffee, donate $11 to a charity, or support the ShineOnCass Foundation. Kick Back 4 Cass!
