Soap Casting Stunner: Michelle Stafford Joins ‘General Hospital’
In the world of daytime dramas, this is the equivalent of Tom Brady joining the New York Jets. Soap actress veteran, Michelle Stafford, who played Phyllis Stafford on 'The Young and the Restless' on CBS for ten years was written off that show last year when her character went into a coma.
In a brilliant twist, she wakes up from a coma, in her new role of Nina Clay on 'General Hospital'. GH ended with a shot of Michelle Stafford waking up and saying her characters husbands name 'Silas'.
It's been rumored that 'The Young and the Restless' producer, Jill Farren Phelps, has clashed with many veteran actors on the show. It's also rumored that another longtime Y&R alum will be coming to Port Charles as the 'new' Jason Morgan. In another real life 'soap twist', longtime GH favorite, Steve Burton, who played Jason Morgan for years, left the show to go to 'The Young and the Restless'. Now it is rumored that Billy Miller, a longtime favorite on Y&R, will be the new Jason Morgan on 'GH'.
