Its bad enough Florida is dealing with a huge population of wild pythons, now in South Florida they are dealing with a new problem, giant African snails. The snails can eat through almost anything including stucco, hard plastic recycling bins and their shells are hard enough to blow-out a vehicle tire if run over.

Many beaches in South Florida were closed after thousands of sharks were spotted of the coast as close as 60 feet away.  Lifeguards raised red flags getting people out of the water around 11am when the sharks were spotted but were allowed back in the water by the afternoon but warned to be careful...

With another winter storm warning in effect as we expect another foot or so of heavy, wet snow in Central Maine, I think we could all use a sign of spring! Last week, I saw it, one of my favorite things this time of year. It wasn't a robin, or a crocus, it was a fantasy baseball magazine!

Florida has about 100,000 pythons in the Everglades and they are becoming an ecological nightmare, so the state is paying per catch.
