It looks like it is going to be a terrific fall foliage season in Maine this year. The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry says conditions in the northernmost part of Maine are prime for very low leaf drop and subtle color changes.

Peak conditions will be in late October with the season running from September 10 through October 25. The general rule of thumb for peak foliage conditions throughout the state are: The Northern region of Maine is at or near peak the last week of September, Central, Southern and Western mountains from October 6 through October 18 and Coastal Maine reaches peak conditions October 13 through October 25.
