The Biggest Loser: It Could Be You!

Having NEVER watched The Biggest Loser before, I felt inspired to this year because it involved children. Not only were adults trying to change their lifestyles but so were three kids who have been struggling with their weight their entire lives.

If 3 children can be inspired to get healthy, why can’t we?

You here us talk about losing weight and hitting the gym all the time. We get emails and stories telling us how we have inspired others to lose the extra pounds they have been carrying for years.

Enough with the talk…WALK THE WALK!!

As we saw last night on the season premiere, even with the unbelievable opportunity to be on the show, when someone DOESN’T want to change, there is nothing you can do about it.

Jillian Michaels returned this season after having 2 years off and she was back with full force! Trust me, if she told me to jump I would try to reach the moon! Her team member, Nikki, decided that the show wasn’t for her. She said she wasn’t ready for the emotional part of losing weight: coming to terms with the demons of WHY she never lost the weight and WHY she gained it in the first place.

And THAT’S exactly what you need to do! It’s not easy but it can be done. Nikki knew she couldn’t do it Jillian’s way so she decided to try it with her family at home. She said not only would she hit the gym but she would also seek out a THERAPIST that could help her get to the root of the problem.

The Biggest Loser is so popular because it gives HOPE to those who are in the same position sitting at home on the couch watching it. Well, now it’s time to do something about it! And it is SO important you do so.

You not only owe it to YOURSELF but if you have children, you OWE it to them to be the best parent you can be! You need to be the example! There are many things you can do to start your journey to be healthy this year!  Remember, always talk to your doctor before you start any kind of workout. The simplest thing to do is WALK!  Put on those snow boots and get out there! It’s going to be almost 40 degrees tomorrow! HEAT WAVE! Get out and start that walk to the mailbox, the corner or even around the block. You may not think it’s very much but it’s a START!  The simplest thing is also the most beneficial. It IS possible to walk away the pounds!
