U.S. Cellular has championed a wonderful cause called "The Future of Good" in which three young local heros were choosen for builing brighter futures for the towns they live in.

According to the U.S. Cellular website, this year three young people were awarded $10,000 each to support thier efforts. New England score two of those three prizes with one being awarded to a young lady named Angelica from Concord, NH who created and donated over 7000 pieces of personal protection equipment made with a 3-d printer.

A little closer to us was Charlie, from Brunswick, Maine. Charlie also was awarded a $10,000 prize. Charlie is a young man who loves team sports and up until recently played as much as he could. Once doctors told Charlie and his family that he would need to stop playing competative sports Charlie decided to focus his efforts on another aspect of sports, the Special Olympics of Maine where he voluntees to be a team manager for the basketball team. He also serves as an assistant coach and other duties as needed. Charlie even created a virtual program called "the Warrior Program" to help bridge the virtual gap durning the pandemic.

Congratualtions to both Charlie and Angelica who motivate and inspire us all to celebrate our youth and the amazing examples they can set for the future. CLICK HERE to see and hear more wonderful stories from the past six years this program has been in place.
