Two Maine Restaurants On The List Of America’s 35 Best Hot Dogs!

With baseball season in full swing and warmer weather and backyard BBQ's on the way, there is nothing like a great hot dog. The Daily Meal.com searched high and low across our great nation for the search of the best hot dogs. Two Maine restaurants made their list of America's 35 Best Dogs!Coming in at number 30, is Simones' Hot Dog Stand in Lewiston. This is my cousin's restaurant! Simones' has been a family owned business for over 105 years. My father and his brother had owned the restaurant for several years together in the 1960's and 1970's. My Dad sold his share of the restaurant in the mid-1970's, if he didn't, I'd be co-owner right now! Simones' Hot Dog Stand landed at #30 with their 'Red Snapper' Dog.

Also representing the 207, is Flo's Hot Dogs on Route One in Cape Neddick. Flo's is also a longtime family owned business and their Hot Dog with mayo, celery salt and relish came in at number nine on the list!

In total five New England restaurants made the top 35!

The number one hot dog went to Fat Johnnie's Famous Red Hots in Chicago.
