Last month, the Maine State Police posted about a cold case murder from 1993 on their social media pages.

The post explained that on January 16th, 1993, 73 year old Maxine Bitomski was murdered in her Kittery, Maine home.

According to the Criminal Journal, she had been seen alive by her granddaughter on the evening of January 15th.  Her grandson found her, deceased, the next morning.

Initially, police knew there was something suspicious  about her passing.  An autopsy eventually confirmed that the manner of her death was homicide.  However, based on what we have found for information, her cause of death was never revealed.

While no one has ever been charged with Mrs. Bitomski's murder, investigators have recently made progress in the case.  What the police need now is for members of the public to come forward with any information they have about her killing.  The hope is that, even though it has been nearly three decades, there is someone out there who remembers seeing something or hearing something that could help with the case.

Recently, the Seacoast Crime Stoppers offered a $10,000 reward to anyone who has information that leads to to an indictment and/or arrest of a suspect in the killing of Maxine Bitomski.

The group's president, Scott Forte, said:

Seacoast Crime Stoppers is committed to making our community a better and safer place,” said President Scott Forte. “We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Maxine Bitomski and are hoping that the $10,000 reward we are offering can help bring a resolution to the unsolved homicide investigation.
