With Thanksgiving just about three weeks away, it's time to make some plans. This year especially it's important to know how and where you are going to be able to enjoy the holiday that is all about making sure no one goes hungry.
With new increased policies to curb the rising COVID-19 infection rates in Maine, many places that would typically host large event gatherings are putting together alternative plans.

One of those is the Skowhegan 10th Annual FREE Thanksgiving Day Meal, although this year it will be a "grab& go" style meal that will be held on Thanksgiving Day,  Thursday, November 26th from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Skowhegan Community Center, 39 Poulin Drive, Skowhegan.
Because of the pandemic and the needed safety measures that need to be put it place, this year will be a "GRAB & GO" format which will enable the volunteers, the staff and the community all to maximize safety during COVID-19, and continue the wonderful tradition for the people in the Skowhegan community to be able to enjoy a holiday meal. The entire staff at The Skowhegan Community Center wants everyone to know that they wish that things were different and everyone could all enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together.
This meal will be provided, prepared and served solely by staff, volunteers and donations.
If you would like to be included in this meal. The Skowhegan Community Center requests that you contact them to reserve your meal so they know how many meals to prepare.
Reservations are being taken from 8:00am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday by calling the center at 474-6901. Make sure to register by Tuesday, November 24th.
