2013 Dempsey Challenge October 12th and 13th in Lewiston
The 2013 Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is coming up on October 12th and 13th at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston. The event, founded by actor, Maine native and avid cyclist Patrick Dempsey, is an annual fundraising event for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.Dozens of teams will raise thousands of dollars. The weekend will feature a 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer run/walk on October 12th and cycling rides of 10,25,50,70 and 100 miles on October 13th.
There will also be free events that weekend at Simard-Payne Memorial Park, including a Health and Wellness Expo, Vendor Fair, KidZone and live entertainment.
A team of cousins of mine will be cycling on October 13th. Their team, 'It's All Relative' have raised almost $1,000 this year!
