Trick or Treat on Water Street This Saturday 2-5 PM

The Augusta Downtown Alliance, Central Church and Townsquare Media are proud to announce the annual Trick or Treat on Water Street annual Halloween night event. Admittedly, this year will look a little different than years past due to COVID.

After weeks of brainstorming and trying to figure out the safest way to still be able to pull this event off, it was determined that the best way to do it would be as a drive-thru event. Between 2-5 PM on Halloween afternoon, families will drive-thru the event and collect candy and goodies as they pass by all the different booths that will be set up along the way.

Vehicles will be asked to line-up starting on Winthrop Street no earlier than 2 PM.  Winthrop Street is the road with the steep hill and speed bumps that goes up to the airport and cemetery at the very top. See, isn't it easier when I describe landmarks as opposed to you trying to remember where the heck all these roads are?

After that, vehicles will be guided into downtown where they will be able to safely, and while physically distancing, drive through all of the Halloween fun. In addition, the Augusta Downtown Alliance and an entire page set up about this on their website. Oh, and of course you'll see all of our radio stations downtown for the fun, so make sure you say "hi!" to your favorite DJ!

Will it be as interactive as years past when we can all gather together outside? Of course not. Is it a great alternative during a year where so many events are just being outright cancelled? You bet you butt it is! Happy Halloween, everyone.
