The dream of winning big bucks in the lottery keeps us going back time after time buying a  ticket. When the jackpot really gets high, more people tend to buy lottery tickets.

On average, Americans spend $70.15 billion a year on lottery tickets. To show how much that is, we spend more on the lottery than sports tickets, books, movies, music and video games combined. The combined money spent on those items reaches $62.7 billion.

Of course buying sports tickets, music, books, movies or video games doesn’t give you the chance to have more money that you could ever imagine having.
