If you don't know by now, I have a completely 100% rational fear of sharks. They have their part of the Earth, I have mine. For some God forsaken reason, people think going near one of the most dangerous predators on the planet is an okay thing to do (I blame baby shark). Now I kind of get the appeal of wanting to touch a dangerous creature but still. I don't think it's safe.

The Maine State Aquarium just so happens to feature this activity. Now it allows you to touch other non deadly sea life which I am all for but holy wow, why would you even risk it??? They are trying to show you the "softer side" of sharks. But that just teaches kids not to fear them. Like next time they're at the beach, they're gonna see a great white shark and instantly think "i'm gonna pet it." I'm not being irrational here. It's logical.

In all honesty aquariums are very fun to go to I highly recommend NOT TOUCHING SHARKS.

The Maine State Aquarium is now open.
