Last week, Anderson told his teacher at Benton Elementary, Mrs. Walston, that he was going to bring the class muffins for his sharing time next week.

Next week is here and yesterday afternoon, he was the best baker ever!

But why did he decide to make muffins? Because he loves to read! Here's what happened.

Anderson is a big fan of the Tractor Mac books by Billy Steers. He owns every one and enjoys them. At the back of the latest book 'Tractor Mac: Farmer's Market' there are recipes for healthy things to feed your family. You see, the book is all about eating fresh vegetables and fruits that can be grown right there in your home town. Mac had to teach the two pigs, Pete and Paul, not to eat all the sweets and candy they find. He taught them that fresh veggies are the way to feel good!

Since he saw the recipe for Connecticut Blueberry Muffins, he has been determined to make them. Yesterday was the day! Here is the recipe:

2 1/2 cups Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 cup Packed Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 1/3 cup Milk
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Blueberries

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Butter your muffin tins. Combine your dry ingredients in one bowl. Combine wet ingredients in another bowl. Add the wet to the dry. THEN spoon in blueberries! Bake in oven for about 25 minutes.
